The Blueprint

If you know anything about building a home or architecture, the term blueprint might sound familiar. In a nutshell, an architectural blueprint gives the structural requirements of a building, providing a detailed outline or plan of action. It specifies what must be done during construction for the building to carry out its function and stand the test of time.

If you’re reading this, then pay attention to the next sentence because here comes the meat and potatoes. God has a blueprint for your life! Let’s digest. Believe it or not, there is a multilayered, preconceived, highly intelligent, precise plan at work in our seemingly haphazard lives. If just one aspect of the blueprint is overlooked, or ignored, the entire structure of our building is compromised. Every aspect of our being is being crafted according to His specifications as we are built up. It’s an active and dynamic process as God intentionally and deliberately selects each unique stone, knocks off the rough edges, so that they can fit exactly into the place He designed.

The blueprint places limits on where things can go or fit in our lives. Now here’s where the train goes off the tracks. When we opt not to conform to the blueprint, the lives that we build tend to be all wonky and crooked, compromised and lacking the integrity needed to keep standing. It reminds me of when I first got my camera, and without even consulting the manual, felt justified and qualified to just start using it. It’s no surprise that those photos (the fruit) left a lot to be desired!

Now I know better. Now I know that there is nothing outside of God’s grand plan for you and I.

Jeremiah 1:5 - Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations.

1 Peter 2:5 - Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ.

Romans 12:2 – And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will (Blueprint) of God.”
