Reframing Our Thoughts
Your life will always move in the direction of your strongest thoughts!
When I heard this for the first time, it was as if a light bulb went off in my head. It meant if I could change how I think, then my life’s trajectory could be changed for the better. It meant that my life could look so much different than what it looks like now.
It all begins with an idea...a simple thought. That seemingly simple thought has the potential to shape our reality - who we are and what we are capable of. Thoughts are more powerful than we give them credit for and the good ones and the bad ones are competing for your attention!
When a negative thought pops up, how easy is it to change focus? How easy is it to change your perspective or view that thing in a different way? Sometimes as a photographer the space you’re shooting in or background leaves a lot to be desired. Similarly in life, you can’t always control what happens to you, but you can control how you frame it.
When we choose to reframe our thoughts, to change our perspective on a situation, it means we are choosing the often times harder path of looking through spiritual lens versus trusting our own fleshly perception. It’s a muscle that gets stronger as we use it more and more. It’s how our minds and our lives can be transformed to look more like Jesus.
Philippians 4:8 - Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.
Proverbs 3:5-6 - Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.
